Tips for Teaching and Academics – Tips to Succeed in the Classroom
What is a lesson-learned experience?
A lesson-learned experience is when something is done for the greater good. Whether it is helping out a friend in need, giving a million dollar donation to your school to help them out or just doing your part to make the world a better place, life is filled with opportunities to learn. Even when things don’t go as planned, there are always lessons to be learned.
Teach with consummate ease
When I was in high school, I was involved in a couple of clubs that had to do with cooking. One of them was the honors class and we had to prepare a special dinner for our peers. There were four of us in the honors class and we were given the option of either cooking for 30 or 50 people. We were given a list of foods that would be good for our classmates to eat and I remember choosing a lot of things based on the fact that my mom brought them to our house. However, one of the foods I remember eating when I was in the honors class at school was egg rolls. I mean, how do you not love egg rolls? They are easy, cheap, and require no cooking! Eggs, vegetables, and so much flavor! We would make the egg rolls in our honor class and we would serve them at our homes for our classmates.
Be empathetic and understanding
Humans are social animals. We rely on others to survive and thrive. It is therefore no surprise that human relationships are so important to us. When we are in a relationship, we are connected in a way that we have no other way of knowing. We are both striving for something. In this case, the something is our relationship. However, there might come a time when one person in our relationship isn’t feeling very empathetic or understanding. In this case, you should probably talk to the other person about it. Empathy is the ability to understand what other people are going through and to put yourself in the other person’s shoes. Understanding is half the battle, so if you have to walk around in someone else’s shoes, you will be more likely to succeed. When things aren’t perfect in a relationship, you need to be understanding and empathetic towards your partner. Try to open your eyes and see what your partner is experiencing. You can’t know it all, so don’t say you do.

Use your own life as a teaching guide
When you are a teacher, you are in a unique position to teach others. You have the chance to teach what you know and to show others that they are not alone. You get to teach through your example and through your stories. You get to teach by living your life and living it out as a teacher. When you are in a relationship and one person is feeling down or overwhelmed, it is important to remember that person’s story and how they got to where they are today. In this way, you can support that person and show them that they are not alone. People are different and the journey to happiness and success is different for everyone. We all have our own struggles and our own obstacles that we need to overcome in order to reach our goals. Remember: You are not alone.
Make learning fun!
One of the things that makes teaching so fulfilling is when you see your students succeed. When you see your kids not just learning a new concept but actually connecting the concepts and applying them to their lives, you will know that you did a good job as a teacher. Kids are visual learners. If they don’t understand something visually, they will probably never get it. Teach your kids to draw and help them understand the process of drawing by teaching them how to color. If they don’t know how to do that, take them to the art gallery and let them experience what it’s like to be an artist.
Conclusion
There are many parents who worry about their child’s future as a teacher and what kind of career path their child might take after high school. There are also a lot of new teachers who wonder how they can get involved in student teaching or working at a public school. There are a lot of paths a teacher can take after high school and making a living as a teacher is rarely an option.
